Cafe Opens at Koizumi Koi Farm in Tokyo
A New Relaxation Spot for Locals and Hobbyists
“CAFE ATLAS” has been completed in a corner of Koizumi Koi Farm in Kokubunji City, Tokyo, and held its grand opening on Tuesday, January 27th.
Run by Kaori, the wife of representative Mitsukuni Koizumi, this cafe operates under the concept of a “second living room,” offering a relaxing space where anyone, including local residents, can feel free to drop by.
The location previously housed an “Aquarium Shop” selling ornamental fish, which closed in the autumn of 2023 to much regret. After that, the space was used for koi quarantine tanks and food storage. However, driven by a desire to “create a place where local people and enthusiasts can relax comfortably,” a project to renovate it into a cafe began about a year ago. Centered around Kaori, who has always enjoyed DIY, the renovation was carried out with help from a customer who runs an interior design business.
To allow visitors to spend time according to their mood, the interior ambiance has been carefully crafted, with wallpaper colors varying by area. Pets are allowed inside.
“I hope people use it for a change of pace while working from home, as a study spot for students on their way home from school, or for a short break during a walk,” says Kaori.
After enjoying the koi, you can take a moment to relax with aromatic coffee and carefully sourced desserts. We invite you to experience this truly luxurious time.
Please note that the cafe is open on an irregular basis, so check their social media before visiting.
