Marudo Kohaku Wins for Watanabe Hiroshi in Consecutive Victory;

Koi Farm Handles Grand Champion for Third Straight Year

This year’s event was held about a week later than usual, on November 8th and 9th. The venue was the parking lot of “Tada no Yado,” adjacent to the Michi-no-Eki Shonai Mikawa/Iroribi no Sato in Mikawa Town, Yamagata Prefecture. Temperatures remained low throughout the two days, and the early dusk made the deepening autumn felt.
Judging commenced at 11:30 AM on the 8th by the four judges: Kachi Tetsuya (Kachi Koi Farm), Hojo Takashi (Kiryu Nishikigoi Center), Ikai Masahiro (NAM・Japan), and Nagahama Tatsuki (Saikoro). The process began with the selection of the Grand Champion. From the large koi marked by the judges, the final decision was made on the over 80bu Kohaku exhibited by Mr. Watanabe Hiroshi.

This 5-year-old, 82cm Kohaku was bred by Marudo Koi Farm. It was purchased by Koi Farm (Hokkaido) and acquired by Mr. Watanabe. This marks a consecutive Grand Champion win for Mr. Watanabe at this show and the third consecutive year that Koi Farm has handled the Grand Champion. Other top awards were as follows: Grand Champion Superior Koi / Taisho Sanshoku, 80bu / Kazuyuki Seino; Male Grand Champion / Male Showa Sanshoku , over 70bu / Koi Farm; Mature Koi Grand Champion /Kin-Ginrin, 70bu / Koi Farm; Adult Koi Grand Champion / Kohaku, 55bu / Akio Sasaki; Young Koi Grand Champion / Kohaku, 35bu / Susumu Saito; Junior Koi Grand Champion/Kin-Ginrin, 20bu / Kanjo Kido; Jumbo Prize / Hikari Muji, over 80bu / Kazuyuki Seino; Sakura Prize / Goshiki, 60bu / Hiroshi Watanabe; Nanohana Prize / Asagi, 75bu / Junichi Ogata.
There were also interesting anecdotes shared, such as the Junior Koi Grand Champion koi having been sold through Matsuda Koi Farm’s (Aomori) YouTube channel “Koi Show Challenge” project. Furthermore, the Yamafuki Ogon that won the Jumbo Prize was produced by Narusawa Fish Farm (Yamagata) using the Ogon koi that Mr. Seino won the same prize with at the 40th show as the female parent.

Monthly Nishikigoi Terms of Use Terms of Use (referred to as "the Terms") stipulate the conditions for providing this service and the rights and obligations between our company and users. The Monthly Nishikigoi Terms of Use ("the Terms") apply to the　service of viewing the electronic version of "Monthly Nishikigoi" (referred to as this service), which is credited to the official publication of the General Incorporated Association All Japan Nishikigoi Promotion Association, provided by Kinsai Publishing Co., Ltd. (referred to as "our company"). Regarding this service, the rights and obligations between our company, which provides and operates the service, and the users who use the service (defined in 2. Definitions). The Terms apply to all transactions and relationships related to the use of the service. 2. Provisions communicated individually by our company through email or other channels to website users are integral to the Terms. Unless explicitly stated otherwise within the Terms, such provisions are incorporated herein. 3. In the event of any discrepancy between the Terms and rules or explanations of the service provided outside the Terms, the provisions of the Terms shall take precedence and be applied. 2. Definitions 1. "Intellectual Property Rights": Copyrights, patent rights, utility model rights, design rights, trademark rights, and other related rights (including the right to obtain these rights or to file for their registration). 3.Purpose of this Service This service aims to provide users with electronic media content and effectively disseminate accurate information concerning the Nishikigoi industry. 4. Amendment of the Terms of Use 1. Our company retains the authority to amend the service content or the terms and conditions as deemed necessary without obtaining prior consent from users. 2. If our company amends the terms, we will notify users of the effective date and content of the revised terms on this website for public awareness. 3. Except in cases where the fault lies with our company, we shall not be liable for any damages incurred by users due to modifications made to the terms. 5. Registration and Duration 1. Persons wishing to use this service (referred to as "Applicants") may request registration with our company for service usage. (1) Acts that violate laws or are associated with criminal activities (2) Fraud or extortion towards our company, other users of the service, or any other third parties. (3) Acts contrary to public order and morals. (4) Actions that infringe upon intellectual property rights, portrait rights, privacy rights, honour, or other rights or interests of our company, other users of this service, or any other third parties. (5) Actions that place an excessive load on the network or systems of this service. (6) Reverse engineering or other analysis activities on our company's software or other systems. (7) Actions that may hinder the operation of this service. (8) Unauthorized access to our company's network or systems. (9) Impersonation of a third party. (10) The act of using the ID or password of another user of this service. (11) Advertising, promotion, solicitation, or commercial activities on this service without prior approval from our company. (12) Collect information from other users of this service. (13) Acts that cause harm, damage, or discomfort to our company, other users of this service, or any other third parties. (14) Actions that violate the rules governing the service use as posted on our company's website. (15) Providing benefits to anti-social forces or similar entities. (2) When the provision of communication lines, electricity, or other utilities our company uses is interrupted. (3) When service provision becomes unavailable due to events such as fire or power outage. (4) When service provision is disrupted due to events such as fire or power outage. (5) In case of a natural disaster like an earthquake, typhoon, flood, tsunami, or similar emergencies, if such events are likely to occur, governmental regulations may require restricting communication or issuing directives. 2. Deletion of Registration 1. Our company reserves the right to delete or hide data, temporarily suspend service usage, or take similar actions without prior notice or warning if the user meets the following items: (1) In the event of violating any provision of the Terms. (2) If false information is discovered in the registration details. (3) In the event of suspension or inability to make payments or initiation of bankruptcy proceedings, civil rehabilitation proceedings, corporate reorganization proceedings, special liquidation proceedings, or similar proceedings. (4) If our company has yet to receive a response to inquiries or other requests for a response within 30 days. (5) If our company finds that the ongoing use of the service or user registration is unsuitable for any other reason. 20. Termination of Use 1. Users can end their use of the service by submitting a termination request to our company using the designated method provided by our company. 2. Moreover, users must inform our company when requesting termination, and upon our company deleting the user's account, the service usage will be terminated. 3. When a termination request is submitted to our company, the user shall lose their eligibility upon completing the termination process according to our prescribed procedures. The completion date of the termination process shall be considered the termination date. 4. When a user terminates the use of this service by this provision, we reserve the right to take measures such as deletion or modification of all or part of the user-provided information associated with that user. 5. We shall not be held liable for any damages incurred by users who have submitted a termination request or undergone information deletion under this clause. 21. Penalty for breach and compensation for damages 1. Separability 1. If any provision or part of a provision of the Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable under the Consumer Contract Act or any other relevant laws, the remaining provisions of the Terms and any remaining portion of the provision determined to be invalid or unenforceable shall remain in full force and effect. 2. If any provision or part of a provision of the Terms is deemed invalid or unenforceable under the Consumer Contract Act or any other applicable laws, both our company and the user shall endeavour to agree on modifications to the invalidated portion to achieve the intended purpose or legal and economic effects sought to be achieved through the provision, to the extent possible 23. Assignment 1. Users are prohibited from transferring, assigning, pledging, or otherwise disposing of their position under this service agreement or rights and obligations based on these Terms to a third party without prior written consent from our company. 2. If our company transfers the business related to this service to another company, our company may transfer the user's position under this service agreement, rights and obligations based on the Terms, as well as the user's registration and other customer information, to the transferee of such business transfer. The user consents in advance to the transfer as described herein. Additionally, the business transfer mentioned in this provision encompasses standard business transfers and any instances where business operations are transferred through company divisions or alternative methods. 24. Governing Law and Jurisdiction 1. The laws of Japan govern the interpretation of the terms. 2. またはパスワードを利用する行為当社が事前に許諾しない本サービス上での宣伝、広告、勧誘、または営業行為本サービスの他の利用者の情報の収集当社、本サービスの他の利用者またはその他の第三者に不利益、損害、不快感を与える行為当社ウェブサイト上で掲載する本サービス利用に関するルールに抵触する行為反社会的勢力等への利益供与その他、当社が不適切と判断する行為第１３条（登録情報等の利用）当社は、ユーザー登録情報を含め本ウェブサイトの利用・閲覧履歴その他本サービスの利用に関し生成または蓄積された情報を収集できるものとし、これらの情報のうち、ユーザーを特定・識別することのできない様に加工した情報については、ユーザーの承諾がなくとも、利用することができるものとします。第１４条（個人情報等の取り扱い）当社は、本サービスの利用に際して、ユーザーから取得した氏名、メールアドレス、住所、電話番号等の個人情報、その他本サービスの利用に関する情報を、本規約に定める他、当社が別途定めるプライバシーポリシーに基づき、適切に取り扱うものとします。ユーザーは、本サービスの利用に際して得た個人情報については本サービスの目的に従って利用し、適切に管理するものとします。第１５条（権利帰属）本サービスにかかるコンテンツ提供者が作成したコンテンツ以外のすべてのデータ、ソフトウェア、資料等（以下「データ等」といいます。）に関する所有権、知的財産権その他一切の権利は、当社に帰属します。本サービスにおける全てのデータ等の複製並びに再配布を禁止します。当社がユーザーに対して行う、ユーザー登録に基づく本サービスの利用許諾は、当社の保有する知的財産権その他一切の権利（以下「知的財産権等」といいます。）について、使用または利用を許諾するものではありません。ただし、本規約に定めのある場合または別途合意のある場合は、この限りでありません。ユーザーは、いかなる理由によっても、本規約に定めのある場合または別途合意のある場合を除き、当社またはデータ等権利者の保有する所有権、知的財産権等に対し、これを侵害する行為またはそのおそれのある行為をしてはなりません。第１６条（免責および補償）当社は、本サービスがユーザーの特定の目的に適合すること、期待する機能・商品的価値・正確性・有用性・最新性・確実性を有すること、ユーザーによる本サービスの利用がユーザーに適用のある法令または業界団体の内部規則等に適合すること、継続的に利用できること、及び不具合が生じないことについて、明示又は黙示を問わず何ら保証するものではありません。当社は、本サービスの確実な提供またはアクセス結果等につき何ら保証するものではありません。ユーザーは、本サービス提供に要する外部サービス（以下「外部サービス」といいます）のサービス内容、運用の変更により、又はユーザーが外部サービスの全部若しくは一部を利用できなくなることにより、本サービスの全部又は一部の利用ができなくなる場合があることを予め了承するものとします。当社は外部サービスに関連してユーザーに発生した損害について、一切の責任を負わないものとします。本サービスまたは当社ウェブサイトに関連してユーザーと他のユーザーまたは第三者との間において生じた取引、連絡、紛争等については、ユーザーが自己の責任によって解決するものとします。当社は、本サービスに関してユーザーが被った損害につき、過去１２カ月間にユーザーが当社に支払った対価の金額を超えて賠償する責任を負わないものとし、また、付随的損害、間接損害、特別損害、将来の損害及び逸失利益にかかる損害については、賠償する責任を負わないものとします。第１７条（内容の変更、終了）当社は、当社の都合により、本サービスの内容を変更し、または提供を終了することができます。当社が本サービスの提供を終了する場合、当社はユーザーに事前に通知するものとします。第１８条（本サービスの停止等）当社は、次の各号のいずれかの事由に該当する場合には、ユーザーに事前に通知することなく、一時的に本サービスの一部の提供を停止または中断できるものとします。本サービスの提供のためのシステムまたは関連設備の保守を定期的または緊急に行うとき当社が利用する通信回線、電力等の提供が中断されたとき火災、停電等により本サービスの提供ができなくなったとき地震、台風、洪水、津波等の天災その他の非常事態が発生した場合、またはそのおそれが生じたために、法令・指導により通信の制限等の要請、指示があったときその他、当社が停止または中断を必要と判断した場合当社は、本サービスの提供の遅滞または一時的な中断が発生したとしても、これに起因して、ユーザーまたは第三者が被った損害について、当社の責めに帰すべき事由がある場合を除き一切責任を負わないものとします。第１９条（登録抹消等）当社は、ユーザーが、以下の各号のいずれかの事由に該当する場合は、事前に通知または催告することなく、データを削除もしくは非表示にし、当該ユーザーについて本サービスの利用を一時的に停止し、またはユーザーとしての登録を抹消することができます。本規約のいずれかの条項に違反した場合登録事項に虚偽の事実があることが判明した場合支払停止もしくは支払不能となり、または破産手続開始、民事再生手続開始、会社更生手続開始、特別清算開始若しくはこれらに類する手続の開始の申立てがあった場合当社からの問い合わせその他の回答を求める連絡に対して 30 日間以上応答がない場合その他、当社が本サービスの利用またはユーザーとしての登録の継続を適当でないと判断した場合第２０条（利用の終了）ユーザーは、当社所定の方法に従って、当社に利用終了の申入れを行うことにより、本サービスの利用を終了することができるものとします。なお、ユーザーが利用終了の申入れを行う際は当社へ連絡を行った上で、当社がユーザーを削除することで本サービスの利用を終了するものとします。利用終了の申し入れがあった場合、当社所定の方法に基づく利用終了手続が完了した時点をもってユーザーの資格を失うものとし、当該利用終了手続が完了した日を利用終了日とします。当社は、ユーザーが本条に基づき本サービスの利用を終了した場合、当該ユーザーに関するユーザー提供情報等の全部または一部について、消去等の措置をとることができるものとします。当社は、本条に基づく退会または情報の削除によって、利用の終了の申し入れを行ったユーザーに生じた一切の損害について責任を負いません。第２１条（違約金および損害賠償等）ユーザーが本規約等に定める禁止事項に違反し、または、不正もしくは違法な行為を行ったことにより当社または第三者に損害が生じた場合、ユーザーはその一切の損害（弁護士費用、当社が第三者に対し負担した費用を含む）を賠償する責任を負います。第２２条（分離可能性）本規約のいずれかの条項の全部または一部が、消費者契約法やその他の法令等により無効または執行不能と判断された場合であっても、本規約の残りの条項および一部が無効または執行不能と判断された規定の残りの部分は、完全に有効であるものとします。当社とユーザーとは、本規約のいずれかの条項の全部または一部が、消費者契約法やその他の法令等により無効または執行不能と判断された場合であっても、無効となった条項の全部または一部により達成しようとした目的や法的、経済的な効果を達成するために、無効となった部分について、有効な内容への改定に変更して合意するよう努めるものとします。第２３条（譲渡）ユーザーは、当社の書面による事前の承諾なく、利用契約上の地位または本規約に基づく権利もしくは義務につき、第三者に対し、譲渡、移転、担保設定、その他の処分をすることはできません。当社は本サービスにかかる事業を他社に譲渡した場合には、当該事業譲渡に伴い利用契約上の地位、本規約に基づく権利及び義務並びにユーザーの登録事項その他の顧客情報を当該事業譲渡の譲受人に譲渡することができるものとし、ユーザーは、かかる譲渡につき本項において予め同意したものとします。なお、本項に定める事業譲渡には、通常の事業譲渡のみならず、会社分割その他事業が移転するあらゆる場合を含むものとします。第２４条（準拠法と裁判管轄）本規約の準拠法は日本法とします。本規約から生じるもしくは本規約に関連するあらゆる紛争については、東京地方裁判所を第一審の専属的合意管轄裁判所とします。最終更新日：2024年2月22日
