Koi and Goldfish Gather at Toki Messe
Major Summer Event Coming Soon

The largest koi and goldfish event of the summer, “Koi & Goldfish Aquarium in Toki Messe: Underwater Summer Festival,” will be held at Toki Messe Exhibition Hall B in Chuo Ward, Niigata City, from Friday, 1st August to Sunday, 24th August, spanning approximately three weeks.

This event, hosted by Niigata Nippo Co., Ltd., TeNY Television Niigata, and Toki Messe Niigata, will be held for the first time in Niigata Prefecture under the title “A Riot of Colours: The Ultimate Summer Festival to Celebrate Beauty.”

The planning and production are led by UWS ENTERTAINMENT Inc. (Tokyo), an otherworldly aquarium production group headed by aquarium creator GA☆KYO, who has captivated two million people, together with Aqua Resort Co., Ltd. (Niigata), which promotes the new appeal of Niigata’s pride, Nishikigoi. This partnership will create an immersive entertainment aquarium experience.

The venue is divided into two main areas: one themed “Art × Goldfish,” and “Festival” featuring cool and beautiful goldfish swimming gracefully, and another showcasing Niigata’s original Nishikigoi. Visitors can enjoy a variety of Nishikigoi-related content, including an exhibition of 21 Nishikigoi varieties officially recognized by the Japanese Agricultural Standards (JAS), as well as displays highlighting the history, culture, industry, and koi shows related to Nishikigoi.

Additionally, there is an interactive area called “Irakoi” where visitors can make their own Nishikigoi illustrations swim on wall panels, as well as a food corner offering delicious local specialties from Niigata.

Photography is allowed throughout the entire venue, and many photo spots are set up, making it perfect for sharing on social media.

The venue is open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (last admission at 3:30 p.m.) and will be open every day throughout the event. It’s an excellent opportunity to create summer memories with your children or to stop by during your trip to Niigata.

Admission tickets are available in advance at the following prices: 1,800 yen for adults, 1,300 yen for middle and high school students, and 800 yen for children. Advance tickets are on sale until 31st July.

Tickets purchased on the day of the event will cost 200 yen more than the advance price for all categories.

Advance tickets can be purchased through “Asoview!” as well as “Seven Ticket” and other outlets.
