The 16th Gunma Prefecture Young Koi Show

April 12, 2026
Venue: Shinkawa Park (Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture)

Under fine weather and pleasantly warm conditions at Shinkawa Park in Kiryu City, three judges — Tomomi Tsuna (Sensuk), Suguru Wada (Wada Koi Farm), and Chikara Nogami (Nogami Koi Farm) — were invited from Niigata to conduct a rigorous and impartial judging. Among a total of 130 entered koi, the Grand Champion was awarded to a 60 bu Showa Sanshoku entered by Isamu Ishizuka.
This koi was bred by Dainichi Koi Farm. As a tosai, it was bought by Kawashima Nishikigoi (Isesaki City). At age three, Mr. Ishizuka acquired the koi and entrusted it for rearing. It was entered in this show as a three-year-old measuring 60 cm, and Mr. Ishizuka achieved consecutive victories, following his win at the previous show.
The other top division prizes went to: Adult Koi Champion / 60 bu Taisho Sanshoku / Toshinori Kimura; Young Koi Champion / 40 bu Kohaku / Yasuhiro Kakuta; Junior Koi Champion / 25 bu Showa Sanshoku / Taro Onuki; and the Prefectural Koi Prize / 60 bu Ginrin Sanshoku / Masami Higashi.
After a lunch break, an awards ceremony was held in the afternoon. Commemorative gifts were presented to participants, and the event concluded in a festive atmosphere.
